D20 Studios 3D Printed Logo
After making the MonoGame logo, Sam hadn't had his fill of 3D printing logos and decided to model, print, and send a logo to our friend Ross for his indie games studio "D20 Studios". This turned out to be a bit challenging because of the angle in which the D20 characters are 'etched' into the D20 die. To maintain the illusion with the 3D model Sam also made a little stand to keep the D20 die standing at just the right angle so it looked like his 2D logo when viewed directly from the front.

Rebellion 3D Printed Insert
We wanted to take advantage of the cool things we can do with 3D printing, as opposed to foam core inserts. This
Rebellion Insert showcases those things.
2021 - Kelsam
Star Wars Rebellion Companion App
We created a
companion app for Rebellion because we wanted a cleaner look and simpler experience than what was available for imperial map tracking. One of our goals was to have explored systems be darker than unexplored systems so your attention is focused on potential base locations.

Kelsam Chrome Extension
Kelsie always has a ton of Chrome tabs open. She likes to work her way through them while she's doing research. At her request, Sam created a
tool to easily save your open tabs to a text file and then reload them next time you're ready. This is really good for storing tabs sorted by category. You can also use it to copy down a set of URLs to send to someone else.

Advanced Atari VCS Controller Support for MonoGame
Sam wrote some customizations for MonoGame to be able to use Atari VCS controllers (Modern and Classic) and was able to
help another developer get them working for their game they were porting to the VCS itself. He's quite proud of his work on these types of complex things but often cannot share them because they are proprietary.

Kelsam Game Gear
Kelsie's parents gifted us a Sega Game Gear. Its screen was dim, and speaker didn't work, but it could run games. Sam repaired the system for our anniversary. He also made a custom cartridge with an SD card mod housing a bunch of games. Kelsie was very excited about it and wanted it on this timeline :P

3D Room Organizers
We have moved many, many times. When we move to a new place, we find it helpful to render the space in a 3D drafting tool so we can easily come up with an arrangement of our things that will work with our new space. This is especially helpful in small areas, because we have a lot of stuff and it can be tough to make a workable living environment in some of the spaces we've lived. We even 3D print these now.

2019 - Kelsie
Capstone Project
Kelsie's Capstone for school was a research project on how video game demos impact game sales on Steam. The findings were that demos are often high-risk low-reward scenarios. Demos are costly to make, difficult to get right, are unlikely to convert someone who wasn't already invested in a game and have a chance to scare off potential buyers. This project won the Outstanding Capstone of the Year Award.

3D Graphics Programming
Kelsie took a Graphics Programming course at school. PovRay was used to generate 3D graphics from JavaScript. These are some of her projects from that class.

Sega Genesis Happy Birthday
This was a fun little Happy Birthday present Sam made for Kelsie. It is an actual Sega Genesis program (running in an emulator), written with

DOS Characters Poster
Sam wanted a poster of his favorite characters from his beloved DOS games of his childhood. Since those don't really exist, he decided to make his own.
From left to right, these characters are:
Row 1: Clyde (Clyde's Adventure), USP Fang Light Fighter (Tyrian), Nephi (Nephi's Quest), B.J. Blaskowicz (Wolfenstein 3D),
Row 2: Player (Jetpack), Skunny (Skunny Kart), Vinyl (Vinyl Goddess from Mars), Star Goose (Star Goose),

Codex Game Mat
There were a few things that bothered us about the neoprene playmats that came with the deluxe set. So, we designed our own. Our main design goals were to have them fit in the box without rolling/folding, have a low-profile patrol zone, and have a large play area free of clutter and other components.
2018 - Kelsam
Chess Custom Box
We got a gorgeous new fossil stone chess set, but it came in a decrepit green box. So, we decided to build it a new one. It is made of foam core (with dress pins and craft glue), velour, liner, foam padding, a bit of black ribbon, and upholstery adhesive.

TI4 Galaxy Mats
When TI4 first came out it was demoed at several conventions and stores on oversized galaxy mats that were largely unavailable to the public/customers. Many people on BoardGameGeek wanted a galaxy mat to play their game on and Sam—having some time to kill on a Sunday afternoon—decided to design one based on the photos he'd seen of the Fantasy Flight demo mat. This took off with surprising popularity, and he has since designed
several versions (at the request of fans), which are available for sale on
InkedGaming. Fantasy Flight Games has since released their original galaxy mat as well.
2017 - Kelsie
Programming
Kelsie took several programming courses at school. These are some of her more visually interesting projects, written in Java. One of the requirements was to build a PC version of a board game and she selected Ricochet Robots. All of the robots can be selected and then moved around a randomly generated board, with collision on walls and other robots, per the rules of the game. The other project was a Tower Defense game with tower options, currency, points, and waves of enemies as requirements.

WoW Adventure Game Foam Core Insert
After sleeving the cards, we found that all the components would not fit nicely into the base box. So, we designed and created custom faction boxes to store the character decks and tokens. For the
foam core insert, we decided to make draw bins for the challenge decks, and a neat little drawer bin for the discovery tokens. Since making this insert, we have purchased a 3D printer and will be using that for new inserts.
2016 - Kelsam
Runebound 3rd Foam Core Insert
For this
foam core insert we decided to make custom boxes for each scenario. We wanted to have a couple separate gameplay trays for this game, namely the adventure decks and main tokens trays. For the setup trays we decided to make expandable trays for asset decks, skill decks, and combat tokens. Since making this insert, we have purchased a 3D printer and will be using that for new inserts.

Runebound 3rd Token Caster App
Many players do not like using the tokens that come with the game for combat, so we created this
Companion App to cast tokens. Using this app you can manage and use your hero's base tokens, tokens you get from cards, and even enemy tokens. If desired, you can also use the app to track your health, as well as enemy health by using the "-" and "+" buttons near the heart in the bottom right.

Custom Tabletop Gaming Table
We created 2 custom tabletop gaming tables from converted IKEA Bjursta tables in 2016. Our current (2023) table is built from scratch, has an inset neoprene playing surface covered in faux suede, and has a removeable hard top. You can read more about our process
here.

Puppets of the Balor
Puppets of the Balor came into being after we played the campaign mode in Temple of Elemental Evil and decided we wanted to construct our own campaign-style game involving all of our D&D games. This is a

Runebound 2nd Hero Card Generator
We made a simple piece of
web-software to allow players to create custom hero cards. Watch your own custom hero cards form as you type then print them to play with your custom hero!

Kelsam Arcade
Sam built this custom box to house the game he wrote to propose to Kelsie. The game focuses on how they met in high school, has mini-games that Kelsie is not good at, and features just the best graphics you've ever seen. The game runs on a mini PC with customized Windows 7 (custom boot screen and startup to hide Windows) in the box. The box is made of acrylic and has edge-lighting, a large screen, and speakers with volume control. This was later replaced by Kelsam Arcade 2.

OUYA Search Site
When the OUYA first came out, their website's games library tool was really clunky and slow. Luckily, it ran on a simple API that Sam and Josh (a friend of his) were able to make use of to create their own snazzy search tool :)

Clyde's Adventure Reborn
Clyde's Adventure Reborn is a remake Sam made of a DOS game by Micheal Voss called Clyde's Adventure. The remake had a level editor, updated UI, and ran on Xbox 360 and PC. Sam also made a neat little papercraft for the Kickstarter campaign.

Sam Eddy's Work
Sam's old portfolio website was really creatively titled "Sam Eddy's Work". It featured websites he'd made for various clients, games, and other neat projects.
2008-2012 - Sam
Portcasts
Sam has designed and developed around 4 different versions of "Portcasts" (Portable Dreamcasts). The first version was built into an old VCR box and required 2 outlets to run. The 2nd had a bulky custom box with wires hanging out, but only needed one outlet. The next versions had battery packs, custom cases with controllers ergonomically built onto them, and the latest version even had an SD card mod so you didn't have to swap discs to play different games. Every model was super heavy and not really that usable, but pretty cool all the same.
2009 - Sam
VMU Saves Utility
VMU Saves Utility was a simple windows program Sam made to help users track their Sega Dreamcast VMU game saves across many VMUs without having to insert them individually into their Dreamcast. It was later succeeded by Dreamcast Connection, a website that performed the same service alongside other features.

Calculator Software
These are some games and tools Sam wrote for his TI83+ calculator during school. TI Texter was technically the first networking software he ever wrote, even if it could only send messages to another calculator over a 5 inch cable and was essentially worthless :P
